The Cursor for Designers hit $5M ARR in 4 months
HeyGen ARR hit $80M, the era of Agentic Content Creation
Last June, HeyGen raised a $60M Series A led by Benchmark at a valuation of $500M, with an announced ARR of $35M.
Since then, the company has mostly shared only product updates without disclosing other financial data.
HeyGen hit $80M in ARR and released Video Agent
However, I’ve recently learned that HeyGen’s ARR has now reached $80M, with expectations to surpass $100M this year. The team currently stands at around 100 employees.
Since the company has been consistently profitable, it’s said that most of HeyGen’s Series A funding is still sitting in the bank, earning interest.
This is similar to Benchmark-backed AI recruitment platform Mercor, which reportedly turned down a $10B valuation offer from investors because the company is already profitable, and the fundraising process was seen as too distracting, said CEO Brendan.
Based on its latest revenue, HeyGen’s valuation should easily exceed $1 billion. According to HeyGen’s latest data, it now has over 15 million global users, including 100,000+ paying customers, and 45,000 enterprise clients spanning industries such as European manufacturers, SMBs, global nonprofits, and Fortune 500 companies.
In comparison, Synthesia, a competitor that has focused on enterprise B2B from the start, announced in April that its ARR had surpassed $100M.
After raising $180M in Series D funding this year, its valuation reached $2.1B. Synthesia currently serves 65,000+ enterprise clients, covering 70% of Fortune 100 companies, with a team of 500 employees.
On the product side, HeyGen recently launched its Video Agent, touted as the world’s first "Creative Operating System"—capable of turning ideas into videos in minutes.
Unlike traditional video production, which requires extensive editing skills and resources, HeyGen automates the entire workflow, from scriptwriting to shot selection. Users only need to upload documents, raw clips, or even just a sentence.
The Agent analyzes the input, extracts the core narrative, drafts a storyboard, generates or matches visuals, selects virtual actors, and handles full editing—including pacing, motion effects, and captions.
It also analyzes brand data and style to ensure consistency and optimizes content for multiple platforms.
This aligns closely with OpenArt’s vision of workflow automation, compressing what was once a complex, multi-step process into a simple input → output experience.
HeyGen states on its official website:
We’re moving beyond the idea of video as a static timeline you fill with clips. Instead, we’re entering the era of agentic content creation — where intelligent systems don’t just assist with editing, but act on your behalf to create high-quality videos, end to end.
With the rapid advancement of AI Agents this year, it feels like almost all traditional tool-based products are moving toward full automation of every step. It seems the clock is ticking for products that still rely heavily on manual labor.
